The Great Piñata

April 20, 2006

I used to think that America was a country, but the lunatics running the system have convinced me that we are living in “a bright candy-and-toy-filled container swinging from a tree that a succession of blindfolded, stick-wielding children try to break in order to collect the candy inside of it”.

Welcome to the Great Piñata, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer.

Just this past weekend, the New York Times ran a front-page article lamenting that “More than 50 million Medicaid recipients will soon have to produce birth certificates, passports or other documents to prove that they are United States citizens”.

Imagine the audacity of a “requirement that is meant to stop the theft of Medicaid benefits by illegal aliens".

Dastardly!

Even though “The Congressional Budget Office estimates that it (proof of citizenship) will save the federal government $220 million over five years and $735 million over 10 years”...” State officials worry that many blacks, American Indians and other poor people will be unable to come up with the documents needed to prove citizenship” and lose their benefits...although these same people had the wherewithal to produce enough documentation to get these benefits in the first place.

And...” In enforcing the new requirement, federal and state officials must take account of passions stirred by weeks of national debate over immigration policy”.  Of course, the Times never articulates “why” these officials must “take account of” the “passions” of illegal immigrants.  Maybe they’ll continue to break the law to get even for any attempt to stop them from breaking the law if the victims of crime don’t “take account of passions”.

The Budget Office estimates that only about 35,000 recipients of Medicaid will be denied benefits and most of those will be illegal immigrants who are, at present, illegally receiving benefits.  I think that is called stealing from the American taxpayer.

No wonder the Times beat the bushes until it could uncover “some Medicaid experts” who could “put the numbers” of downtrodden about to suffer at the hands of this heinous Republican legislation “much higher, saying that millions of citizens could find their health benefits in jeopardy”.  The Times never produced a single Medicaid “expert” but it sure as hell got the info it sought from a slew of non-profit interest group and politico types (who says Jayson Blair is no longer employed at the Slimes).

Of course what the Times needed were “legal” experts because the article dealt with the criminal actions of those who steal from the taxpayer.  But, by “estimating” that “millions” would be in medical jeopardy, the Times segued the debate away from crime and into “humanity”.  Too bad that Carl Sagan wasn’t still alive; I’m sure the Slimes could have pushed this Republican inhumanity into the “billions and billions”.

Most frightening, “Native Americans — the first Americans — do not have the documents" required to show citizenship”...although they produced the documents to open America’s richest casinos.  Not to burst the revisionist bubble, but technically speaking, “the first Americans” began evolving on July 4, 1776 and I think they were the colonists.  Of course, 15,000 years ago the Cro-Magnon roamed the land...but that’s a subject for another day.

The subject at hand is the question of illegality and the elite belief that America is not a country, but some kind of altruistic piñata loaded with freebies for the taking.  Nobody is talking about what to do after our one and only piñata is broken (along with the American taxpayer).

Who can blame the illegal immigrants for their piñata-like approach to nationalism...they undoubtedly learned it from America’s “leaders”.

All over this country, elected leaders pass revenue and spending budgets (in the name of providing “critical” government services) necessitating tax increases that dwarf the income growth of taxpayers.

Yet, in the states of Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and others, when you actually need those services you receive a bill.

For instance, the service du jour of Hartford Connecticut is an à la carte Fire Department menu.  As the Hartford Courant notes, “Fairfield, Hartford, Middlefield, New London and Union are among scores of locales across the United States that charge...when equipment and manpower roll to building fires, motor vehicle accidents, or chemical or hazardous materials spills.”

That’s right...first you pay your taxes and then you pay à la carte for the services which those tax dollars are supposedly providing.  Welcome to the world of exponential taxation where you pay tax upon tax in order to provide salaries, benefits and pensions to government employees...and then buy their services à la carte.

Who can blame partially literate illegal immigrants for believing that America is just one big paper Mache jackass full of goodies and waiting to be smashed open for the taking.

With a Congress that is all too willing to give this country away (along with your hard-earned tax dollars) to all comers; with the New York Times being run (into the ground) by a rocket-science-boy named “Pinch” whose daddy “Punch” gave him the company; with governments charging taxes to provide “critical” services and then charging à la carte fees for those services...can you really blame non-assimilated illegal immigrants for truly believing that America is the Great Piñata?

And you, the American taxpayers...well, you are just “the poor schmucks who get stuck with the bill”.

Thomas Jefferson once observed that “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

The elites of this nation are scheming overtime to prove him correct.
